I have a 10 year old German Shepherd that I acquired from a reputable Breeder as a puppy. He has been diagnosed with cancer and degenerative myalopthy and I am now reluctant to approach the same breeder for another dog. I am looking to replace my Tago who is very dear to me and I am looking for a Male that will have free rein on my property and home and will be exercised daily. He will have formal training and if he has show potential then he will be shown as well. I have the time to give him as much of my personal time as I did for Tago.

Just surfing and reading all the comments on this site really made me think back to 5 years ago when I got Troye.
He looks so like Zander and has those wonderful gentle eyes.
Yes Dawn, your dogs are surely beautiful and its such a priviledge to own two of them. Though I suspect Amber owns me more thanh I own her.

Good Morning Dawn, Hope you and yours are all well, winter should be over soon. I keep trying to photo Tarik but when he isn't sleeping he's on the move, and won't pose for me. He is doing so well, weighs 22kgs now ( and remember how worried I was that he didn't eat ! ) which is right on target for his age. He looks stunning, yesterday we had our local "Mutt Day", and of course I took him. I lost count of the number of people who approached me to say what a stunning little guy he is - and asked me where he came from ( you may get enquiries ).
What fun we are having together, and how clever he is. We go out every morning, beach or bush, ( no leashes ) and he has a ball, no longer fearful of anything, but such a good boy, doesn't run away from the pack, and comes immediatly he is called. Then it's sleep time for a while, and once awake we play leaning games. He can open boxes, find a treat hidden under flowerpots, jump through a hoop ( it's on the ground, too young for real jumping yet ), play "search the house" ( for treats hidden throughout the house - great for wet days ), in fact I'm running out of challenges for him, quite remarkable for his age. His obedience is terrific, in fact he got another gold star at puppy school last week, for his 'sit,stay'. He has taken to clicker work faster than I ever thought possible. Am going to begin the "which toy" game this coming week ( he has so many ), that is hard for adult dogs, but for Tarik...... Did I tell you we had "puppy school agility " ( I love doing agility with my dogs and have won local competitions ), and again Tarik took to it like he was born for it. Above all he is really happy, adores other dogs and children and is not shy with adults, a lovely temperament. I'm very proud of him and love him very much.

Qaci, Goose and Maverick all qualified Breed Survey Class 1 (Highly Recommended for Breeding) at Midrand GSD Club on Sat 13Augst. Their protection work was excellent as was the individual critique on each dog. They all have A+ HD/ED gradings, and we are looking forward to their litters with great anticipation!

We took Jozi home 8 months ago and each and every day has been a delight. Her excellent breeding is evident in everything - her great nature, her ease with other dogs and her beautiful looks. Loving and loyal. We are so happy we found Dawn and John!
